Anantara Hoi An Freshens Up by the Thu Bon

New riverfront suites, a revamped pool and a livelier dining spot bring fresh energy to the Hoi An favorite.

Anantara Hoi An Resort has unveiled its biggest refresh since opening in 2013, adding new riverfront suites, a revamped pool and a livelier new look for Art Space Restaurant & Bar.

The changes make the most of the resort’s prime position on the banks of the Thu Bon River, close to Hoi An’s lantern-lit lanes, galleries and historic architecture.

Accommodation has seen some of the biggest changes. Eight new Thu Bon River Suites have joined the line-up, while ten Premium River Suites have been completely renovated. The resort’s signature suite, meanwhile, has become the new Anantara Two-Bedroom River Suite, offering extra space for families and groups.

Across all 19 refreshed suites, the look draws on Hoi An’s distinctive blend of influences, pairing French colonial character with Asian design touches. Split-level layouts create plenty of space to spread out, while private terraces and balconies open towards uninterrupted views of the Thu Bon.

Suite guests also get a few extra perks. Dedicated room hosts take care of in-suite check-in and check-out, while each stay includes a complimentary 60-minute spa treatment per guest and access to a private steam room at Anantara Spa. Other touches range from beach bags and bath salts to premium teas and a welcome bottle of wine.

The pool has had a makeover of its own. Set amid tropical gardens beside the river, the redesigned space comes with new cabanas and oversized loungers, creating an inviting spot for morning dips, lazy afternoons and drinks as the sun goes down over the water.

Things get a little more animated at Art Space Restaurant & Bar.

The resort’s art-filled dining venue now spills onto a tropical-inspired terrace, with a new sit-up bar serving signature cocktails and tapas-style plates. A dedicated performance stage brings regular live music into the mix, while freshly made pizzas continue to emerge from the wood-fired oven.

Art remains central to the concept, with original pieces by local and international artists based in Vietnam displayed throughout the restaurant. Guests can retreat into the air conditioning or settle outside on the terrace for drinks and dinner.

The rest of the resort remains reassuringly familiar, including its Deluxe Balcony Rooms and Deluxe Garden Suites, Anantara Spa, and additional dining options.
