Bangkok’s Culinary Heavyweights Unite For Earthquake Victims

Acclaimed venues, including Michelin-starred Sorn, Baan Tepa and Gaa, join forces to raise vital funds for rebuilding efforts in Myanmar.

Some of Bangkok‘s top chefs are joining forces to help victims of the recent Myanmar earthquake through a heartfelt culinary campaign.

Bangkok’s culinary community has united under the initiative “Meals for Myanmar” (#Meals4Myanmar) in response to Myanmar’s devastating 7.7 magnitude quake, which left over 3,700 dead, more than 5,000 injured, and approximately 200,000 homeless. The initiative, spearheaded by Bangkok Foodies, is aimed at raising vital funds for urgent rebuilding efforts.

With Myanmar’s monsoon season rapidly approaching, there’s an urgent need for immediate assistance to provide shelter and basic infrastructure. The campaign transforms compassion into action, offering extraordinary culinary experiences designed to engage food lovers across Thailand. Michelin-starred chefs, acclaimed restaurants, producers, and culinary creatives have generously donated unique dining and gourmet experiences, with every baht raised directly benefiting rebuilding efforts managed by SONNE, a trusted and verified NGO actively working in Myanmar.

Participating chefs and restaurants include Chef “Ice” Supaksorn Jongsiri of the three Michelin-starred Sorn, Chef “Tam” Chudaree Debhakam from Baan Tepa, and Chef Garima Arora of Gaa, among other celebrated figures. The impressive lineup also features Chefs Thav Dou Phouthavong (80/20), DK Deepanker Khosla and Vishvas Shringi (Haoma), and Michelle Goh and Pongcharn Russell (Mia).

Additional participants include renowned establishments such as Electric Sheep, Maison Dunand, Lahnyai, and Le Du Kaan, highlighting Bangkok’s diverse culinary scene.

Food enthusiasts can look forward to exclusive offerings, ranging from intimate tasting menus with wine pairings, private chef experiences, and off-menu culinary surprises, to artisanal gourmet baskets, winery tours, and professional food content creation sessions. Notable lifestyle brands and influencers have also joined the cause, providing unique packages like private chef classes with culinary expert Hanuman Aspler, food photography sessions by Diego Arenas, and exclusive food influencer meet-and-greet opportunities.

Unlike traditional charity auctions, “Meals for Myanmar” adopts a dynamic, rolling release format, maintaining excitement throughout the campaign. Each voucher is teased and then dropped progressively through the Bangkok Foodies OFFICIAL Facebook group, offering participants ongoing opportunities to bid or grab special deals. This strategic rollout ensures that every culinary contributor gets a dedicated spotlight, keeping interest high and participation robust.

The initiative’s appeal is further enhanced by its transparency and user-friendly format. Foodies and potential donors can easily access a constantly updated live list of available offers, track bidding statuses, and receive real-time updates at bangkokfoodies.com. With auctions, buy-now deals, and spontaneous flash sales, there’s an engaging opportunity for everyone to contribute meaningfully.

All proceeds will directly support SONNE’s frontline activities, where teams are actively delivering emergency relief and urgently constructing housing ahead of the monsoon season. Bangkok Foodies chose SONNE after rigorous vetting, trusting their established presence in Myanmar and proven commitment to impactful community-driven projects.
