Magic Camps: Seeing Oman in Bedouin Style

March through May and it is spring in Oman when it is hot and dry, but a perfectly fine to visit before the peak summer heat. Highs are generally between 30 and 35 °C (86-95 °F) though it is a good few degrees lower in the cooler south. Spring brings the country’s famed rose blooming season in the Jebel Akhdar area, a wonderful spectacle when the rich yet delicate scent of Damask roses perfume the mountain air in one of Oman’s most stunning regions. Peaks here can reach up to 3,000m. Despite the nation’s desert reputation, the Persian Gulf has some of the most jaw-dropping, and little visited, beaches and coastline you are likely to see.
