DETAILED DECRIPTION

Enjoy life at sea and visit the stunning islands of Indonesia on this exciting eight-day cruise. Take the road less travelled and set sail to the island of Kumba. Here you’ll come face-to-face with untouched coral reefs and bright schools of fish while snorkeling. Next, visit the traditional village of Takpala, where you’ll learn about local Indonesian life and culture. Continue to the stunning island of Watubalu and hike through its rugged landscape. Be sure to keep your eyes open for wild deer and other exotic wildlife. Finish the tour in Waienga Bay and admire the mighty Ile Api volcano. While you’re here, take a stroll through nearby villages and learn about the art of Ikat, a unique dyeing technique used to color textiles.

DAY-TO-DAY

DAY 1: Maumere - Kumba

Start the tour off by boarding a luxurious cruise ship in Maumere. Set sail and enjoy a stunning sunset from the deck before cruising overnight to the island of Kumba. Relax onboard and spend the night gazing at millions of twinkling stars.

DAY 2: Kumba - Alor

Begin the day by anchoring at Kumba Island, which is home to an active volcano. Head to shore and take a stroll through one of the gorgeous pebble beaches. Next, grab your snorkel and dive under the sea to see beautiful coral reefs and exotic schools of fish. After, head back to the ship and sail overnight to the island of Alor.

DAY 3: Kalabahi - Takpala

Arrive in Kebola Bay in the early morning and make your way to the scenic town of Kalabahi. Enjoy hiking through the lush hills and forests in Kalabahi and continue until you reach the traditional village of Takpala. Here, you’ll spend the rest of the day learning about Indonesian life and culture. In the late afternoon, return to the cruise and spend the night at anchor.

DAY 4: Pura - Ternate

After breakfast, visit the picturesque islands of Pura and Ternate. Enjoy a day of beachcombing and take a dip in the cool turquoise water. Dolphins are extremely common in this area and there is a good chance you’ll see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

DAY 5: Watubalu

Feel the wind in your hair and spend the day sailing to the island of Watubalu. After arriving on its shore, journey through the jungle and enjoy a nature hike through the pristine island. Here, you’ll see wild deer and a variety of other exciting wildlife.

DAY 6: Lembata

Arrive on Lembata Island in the morning and head to Lamalerap, a traditional hunting village. Here, you’ll witness a community whose livelihoods depend on the sea. Fishermen practise whaling in the area and you’ll see them busy at work in their tiny sailboats. In the evening, take in another beautiful sunset while the cruise sails around the island.

DAY 7: Waienga Bay - Maumere

Spend the day discovering the natural wonders of Waienga Bay. On shore, admire the mighty Ile Api volcano and take a stroll through villages untouched by the modern world. These villages are famous for Ikat, a unique dyeing process used to pattern textiles. After, head back to the ship and enjoy one last overnight sail back to Maumere.

DAY 8: Maumere - Departure

Arrive in Maumere in the early morning and depart the cruise ship. Here, we’ll wish you farewell and are more than happy to assist you with your next travel plans. For the remainder of the day, we recommend relaxing at the beach. Maumere is home to many vibrant coral gardens, which are perfect for snorkeling or scuba diving. For the thrill-seeking adventurer, consider renting a jet ski or banana boat, which will allow you to speed through crystal blue waters.
